Friends From Merritt Island High School

"Isn't it nice to know some friends will always be there no matter how long it's been since you've seen them", says Karen. I totally have to agree, it's been near twenty years that we had seen each other and seemed like we were all together at Merritt Island High School just the other day.
After all these years the three of us got in touch with each other communicating through Face Book. What an awesome way to connect with people especially those you haven't seen for a long time. It's exciting to me seeing friends I grew up with and learning where they are and what all has gone on in their life over the years.
Karen and I were in Indian Maidens (a club much like girl scouts) as little girls, we played softball together, we hung together in high school and shared many great and fun times before graduating and going our separate ways discovering what life would bring to us. Karen is now married and has two children living in Cape Code with a job that takes her all over the world traveling.
Stephanie, like me, still lives in this area. We grew up playing volleyball, basketball, and running track together. She at one time held the track record for the 440. Boy, did we compete against each other and I was always on her tail on the track (I think she had some advantage with those long legs, ha ha!) Steph, got married at a young age and raised two great boys that love their mommy, she also has a son 15 years younger than her oldest. I always liked being around Stephanie because she was gonna have fun no matter what was going on.
