Bait and Tackle at the Cocoa Beach Pier
There are so many activities at the Cocoa Beach Pier and what seems to be the one thing everyone try's their hand at is fishing. It's easy to pick up a rod, cast out your line and wait to see if you get a bite. To get on to the end of the Pier you are charged a $1.00 and to fish for the day it is a $5.00 charge. You don't need a fishing license but you will need a rod and reel and some bait. You can bring your own stuff or if you don't have it, you can rent the equipment and buy bait. If you are staying here for a week or month you might want to get a pass to save you a little money. Now anybody can fish off the pier but just to let you know the fishing is not all that great, you might catch whiting, catfish or jacks but not really anything much to take home for the dinner table. If you're looking to have a fun day of fishing you need to book a trip with Capt. Richard, Lagooner Fishing Charters, and you'll be sure to have a great day.
Fishing off the Cocoa Beach Pier
While you want to make a day of fishing off the pier you need to know that you can't bring any outside food or drinks along. You will have to purchase lunch and drinks from one of the pier restaurants. This may get a little costly especially if it's the entire family, you can bring a cooler but they will check it. So if you are looking to hang out on the pier for the day plan to relax and visit the Mai Tiki Bar in between waiting for the fish to bite and watching the pelicans dive for your bait.
