Cobia Fishing Off
Cocoa Beach, Florida

Summer time most always provides calm waters and great conditions for being on the ocean. More recently I've had many opportunities to get out in the boat with my husband, Capt. Richard. On occasion we will jump aboard the Obsession with our friend, Capt. Brent, for a day of offshore fishing out of Port Canaveral.

This summer has been a blast for me catching some really nice fish. With large kingfish, two tarpon in the seventy to eighty pound range, a few large snook and to top it off this nice cobia. While you typically fish for cobia in the Spring we still find them hanging around here and there often thorough out the summer. I love riding in the tower looking for rays and trying to spot cobias underneath the ray. You can spend hours doing this and when you actually hook up you don't want the search to end.

Fishing off of Port Canaveral for kingfish, cobia, snook or tarpon is a lot of fun. Sometimes just being able to relax while working on a beautiful tan enjoying letting go of the everyday routine will make the day perfect especially if the fish aren't biting like you would you like.
