Stanley's Wednesday Crew
I've not been officially invited, but the guys of Captain Stanley Mickle's Wednesday Crew are at least discussing among themselves about the possibilities of having me... Captain Gina, spend a wednesday with them out of Port Canaveral soon.
The possibilities of having a women onboard with the likes of these guys is a rare if nonexistent occurrence and each of them looked at each other for as if they were knights of the round table on the stern of Stanley's boat when I asked if I could possibly go one wednesday with them. The verdict of my attendance on a given wednesday is still up in the air.
Stanley replied... "Gina, I don't think you're prepared for what goes on in the boat with these guys. I mean it's not like we're homosexual, but these guys do weird shit when they drink too much and it just might not be appropriate around a women." When I prodded Stanley for specifics, he rubbed his chin and scratched his head and thought what secret ritual he might divulge... "They urinate on reels to bring good luck! How's that for being weird? And that's just a minor occurrence!"
Now before you think less of these guys, know that they all are hard working men and are married. Sitting talking with these guys I received up most respect and couldn't imagine they would treat me differently on any given Wednesday. |
