Baby Mocking Birds Hatching
In Our Cocoa Beach Back Yard
Our papaya trees in our backyard attracted a mother mocking bird to nest amoungst the fruit. I discovered this nest one day when I was washing the boat and mentioned to our nine year old Mekenzie. She frantically looked for a perch to take a peek at the nest and quickly counted and recounted four eggs.
What a treat it is for young kids to watch nature, especially in the backyard. Captain Richard has really done a great job with our backyard. He's transformed it into a tropical paradise with Banana Trees, pinapples, key limes, coconuts, papayas, mangos and a recently planted navel orange tree. We raise chickens and have a hamster named Mocha and our kids enjoy not only nesting birds but the abundance of a backyard garden area too.
