Pepe The Parrot
Visits Our Cocoa Beach Home

Pepe belongs to our long time family friend, Mr. Len Flake, of Merritt Island. When Mr. Flake goes out of town he always calls to see if we will keep Pepe. Our girls love having a bird to take care of and have fun with him. He is a really neat parrot and likes to talk with you and sounds just like Mr. Flake when he talks.

Each morning Pepe stays with us, we wake up to him calling to be let out of his cage. The first time we kept Pepe, he learned Savannah's name very quickly and would call "SaVannah, SaVannah" each morning and he had her trained to let him out and serve him breakfast. Who ever said "you eat like a bird"? to my surprise birds eat like crazy, I guess the saying is that they pick through their food but they eat more than you and I.

Having Pepe around is really cool, he enjoys sitting with us out in the open of our backyard and will occasionally hear and chat with other free roaming parrots that fly through the neighborhood. I am amazed when looking at Pepe and all the beautiful colors and details that he is made of, God has surely created some pretty incredible creatures for us to enjoy here on earth.

Pepe is a parrot all though he thinks he is human and probably rightly so since he is treated like a king.

Parrots In Cocoa Beach?

There are a flock of parrots that fly through our Cocoa Beach neighborhood and get your attention. They will often times hang on the telephone lines at our house.

One of our neighbors home on Lincoln Avenue is grounds for attracting these parrots. He has all sorts of a variety of trees and foliage providing a sanctuary for many different birds and such.

As Richard and I have a morning cup of coffee in our backyard we enjoy listening to the birds and parrots as they fly overhead.
