Thanksgiving at Cocoa Beach
For our family the ringing in of the holidays begins with Thanksgiving. Spending time with family, friends and eating good food is pretty much what the day is about. Our girls love to plan and prepare for this special day by inviting friends, making out the grocery list, shopping and finally helping out in the kitchen.
We each have our specialty item that we enjoy making and eating.
Mekenzie's favorite is the cranberry sauce and cranberry salad. She is so very patient to stand over the stove stirring until the cranberries are just right. She also loves green beans (if you let her she'll gobble up the entire bowl!) Savannah's most favorite is the sweet potato casserole and she will let no one else attempt to fix it but her. She also loves making the pumpkin pie and will be sure to have plenty of whip cream. Mom's favorite is the squash dressing casserole (before it's even cooked it's practically gone!), cant' forget to mention the gravy too.
Growing up with seven kids in our family my mom taught us how to take care of things in the kitchen very well. We all learned from her how to prepare a delicious Thanksgiving meal with all the fancy fixings. As my mom use to prepare Thanksgiving for her children and our families we now have all taught our own children the fine art of cooking. We spend our day at home enjoying time with family and there's nothing like the wonderful aroma that comes from the kitchen.
