Mainland Mexico Surfing Trip
My oldest child, Savannah went surfing this year to mainland
Mexico with Richard and her uncle Johnboy (alias Juan Chico).
I posted a video for all to see on her Mexico
Video Page.
They left out of Miami International Airport headed for Puerta
Vallarta and shortly after landing headed for Punta
de Mita where they found that the point breaks had
been developed and were largely unaccessable to the general
public. No need to worry though, they quickly turned north
and toward Santa Cruz & San Blas
and it's near perfect left point break and Metachen Bay's
famous mile long right. On the way there they stopped by San
Francisco and Costa Azul resort and Sayulita
where the waves are great and the food is excellent.
After surfing a couple of days in Santa Cruz they took an
all day car trip to a place called La Ticla
and it payed off. The surf was great and there were several
companions to surf with. La Ticla had changed from when Richard
used to go in the 1980's, there were cabanna's and restaurants,
but the surf had stayed the same.
They stayed the remainder of the week in La Ticla and had
a wonderful relaxing time of surfing and taking siestas on
the beach.
