Disney World Magic Kingdom
The Bradley family in Central Florida

A world of wonder and surprise lays just minutes from our home in Cocoa Beach at Walt Disney World. Of course all of you know of Disney World and also Disney Land and their magical being. From all over the world people visit Central Florida to see Micky Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Cinderella hoping for those childhood dreams to come true. Personally, I like Donald Duck and his three nephews Huey, Louie and Dewey and my husband, Captain Richard, really likes Ariel The Little Mermaid (of course).

Our family enjoys visiting the Orlando attractions every so often. One of my favorite places as a young child was the Magic Kingdom. It's strange how when you're a child everything seems so huge and enormous, now as I am older I know every nick and cranny and the easiest ways to get around the park. Being an adult I still love all the thrills of riding roller coasters like Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain the little kids Barn Stormer is popular with our youngest.

Captain Richard really likes to go on these rides too, and while fishing he's often taunting his anglers by singing the themes of "It's a Small World" and the Pirates of the Caribbean's "Yo Ho Ho A Pirates Life for Me!" He says it drives them nuts and attracts fish too. His favorite rides include the Swiss Family Robinson's Treehouse (because he always wanted one) and The Jungle Cruise because he'd love to drive a boat in the Amazon and shoot wild animals on the shoreline (he's a redneck, you know now).

Our youngest loves the fast rides too, but she's also our littlest princess and loves the Dumbo Ride, Aladdin Magic Carpet Ride and the Country Bear Jamboree. She discovered Stitch's ride this year from Lilo and Stitch and the Carousel with all it's horses is always a favorite of the whole family.

We all fell in love with Captain Richard's air conditioned Tiki Room during the hottest part of the day but Savannah really likes to go to the Haunted House but the crowds were outrageous and the wait was over two hours long. We opted instead to head for a restaurant at one of the Disney World Resorts.

I'm often treated to something special from Captain Richard when we go to the Orlando Theme parks, he takes our family to a nice restaurant in one of the Resorts as the Park food is pretty terrible. This day we took the monorail to the Contemporary Hotel, The Polynesian Hotel and the Grand Floridian Resort and found that they were all booked too far in advance. We'd parked at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and ended up dining there in a great restaurant with and African Theme.

There's more to Disney than just the Magic Kingdom, there's Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon and Downtown Disney. If you're thinking of coming down for your vacation, you might want to consider staying in one of the popular Disney Resorts like the one's mentioned or maybe even camp at Fort Wilderness Lodge or the Caribbean Beach Resort.

After a few days at Disney's Theme Parks many of our friends and Captain Richard's anglers look forward to a day of relaxing and fishing on the mangrove lined Lagoons on the east coast, minutes from Orlando. I know that's what I did! I left the kids and went out for an afternoon in my bikini with my hubby to soak up the Florida Sunshine and rest my feet.
