On the Docks of Sunrise Marina
Port Canaveral, Florida
As Spring and Summer approach you will find many of us hanging at the docks of Sunrise Marina in Port Canaveral. While my hubby, Capt. Richard, fishes mostly in the ocean during that time of the year I run down to greet him as he comes in from a day of charter fishing out of Port Canaveral.
Each afternoon the docks are the meeting place, watching the fish being brought in from the day and seeing the captains unwind after being on the water before deciding where to go eat and what to do for the evening. Many of these guys are single and what more do they enjoy then having a few beers relaxing hanging with friends before they head home. It's almost unbearable in the summertime to be on the docks in the early afternoon from the heat and sun beating down on you. We'll usually pick the boat that has the most shade and a little breeze to find cover. Of course, having a drink like a mango daiquiri or margarita is one way of cooling off.
In the summertime with a few of us having mango trees right in our backyard its great to be able to make fresh mango daiquiris to share with friends on the docks in Port Canaveral. Sitting around enjoying each others company and meeting new friends from time to time is what makes life fun and exciting.
