A Day of Fishing With My Kids For
Jack Crevelles Off Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach
Captain Richard's favorite fish to fight when he was a youngster was Jack Crevelles and today his daughters battle giant Crevelle off the beaches of Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach in our Action Craft Bay Boat during the summer.
"Dad says that if you learn how to pull in a Jack Crevelle you'll have a good idea on how to catch almost any fish," explains Savannah, our fifteen year old daughter. "It's about the toughest fish I've fought and I don't really like to bring in too many of them during the day because they take forever to reel in."
During the day above, thier father spotted a school of jacks off the shoals and both girls shouted, "Don't cast to them dad!" as both of them were worn out from bringing in a jack beforehand. Crevalle are called Yellow Submarines by some of the anglers off Port Canaveral because it feels like you've hooked onto a sub and the fins are yellow, thus the nickname "Yellow Submarines".
