Shell Collecting on the Beach

Collecting shells is a great way to pass time while you are soaking up the sun on Central Florida's beaches. I often go to the Space Coast's Playalinda Beach to find great shells away from all the crowded beaches to the south.

Collecting shells in the Florida sunshine can be a fun way to get souvenirs to take home for a "shell jar" or vase.

Our house in Cocoa Beach has a real beachy feel with a lot of privacy. We have several shell collection jars around the house that are easily made and look great with flower combinations and mermaid tears.

Collecting shells is best done after storms and at low tide. It's also best to be the first one on the beaches in the morning so you get the very first pickings.
